My passion is to help people find true wellness, what I call Total Body Wellness: being well physically, emotionally and spiritually. If there’s one thing that breaks me, its someone living in pain or sickness because they don’t have any answers as to how to fix it.
I have always been interested in health, nutrition, and exercise, it’s like it was engrained in my DNA. My dad was and is a big influence in this part my life. He is a chiropractor as well, so I was raised with a more natural mindset. We have always believed that the body was designed to heal itself.
I completed my Doctor of Chiropractic degree and Bachelor’s in Health Science from Logan College of Chiropractic and prior to that earned my Bachelor’s in Natural Science (emphasis in Nutrition) and a Sports Medicine Minor from the College of St. Benedict. I have also been certified in Morphogenic Field Technique, Nutrition Response Testing, Rock Tape application, personal training, and Advanced Activator Technique.
I have seen time and time again, how giving someone their health back can completely transform their life. I see people every day at work being transformed from a life of fatigue, suffering, and pain, to a vibrant life full of energy, vitality, and joy. I truly want this for all people out there! This is what drives me to be constantly researching the latest health information and always looking to improve and expand on what I know. I will do my best to share what I know to be true, in hopes of changing a few more lives.
My philosophy on health and wellness:
God made our bodies, which are incredible and amazing, and therefore we should take good care of them!
Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies. (1 Corinthians 6:19-20)
We do this by:
-Nourishing our bodies with real food: the closer it is to the way God made it, the less we interfere, the better. If it’s an ingredient I have no idea what it is or sounds like it was made in a lab, I try to avoid it.
-Movement: Our bodies were made to move! When we stop moving, it’s called being dead… We remain mobile by getting regular exercise and chiropractic care.
-Thought life: What we think about throughout the day can be very toxic to our bodies or our thoughts can bring life and energy. What you think about is your choice.
Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable–if anything is excellent or praiseworthy–think about such things. (Philippians 4:8)
I am passionate about passing on the information I’ve learned to help others on their road to true health. There’s a lot of “health” information out there and it’s hard to sort out what’s truth and what’s garbage. So many of the patients I see struggle with this and I try and educate them as best as I can, but its hard to explain everything in just a few minutes and it’s hard for patients to relay the information on to family and friends. This blog is my hopeful solution to that- A place people can go and trust the information provided.
